St Andrews Healthcare
The requirements
St Andrews Healthcare is a charity with an excellent reputation around the world built on more than 175 years of experience. St Andrews continue to build world-class mental healthcare services which put people first. As a charity, all surpluses are reinvested in improved patient care.
St Andrews train clinical leaders for the future through our teaching programme. They continue to work in partnership with universities around the country and their research is improving understanding of mental health. We share our knowledge widely through our annual conference and events programme.
Mitie Painting was allocated a position on the St Andrews Healthcare buildings and maintenance framework.
How we helped
A full site and welfare induction was completed and work at the Four St. Andrews Healthcare sites began almost immediately.
Working with the Scheme Manager, we fully inducted all selected operatives into the scheme’s safe system of working and awareness of the vulnerability of the residents. Each operative is CRB/Safeguarding checked. We aim to ensure the protection of all people who we come into contract with in the course of our works.
We carefully consider working times so that any disturbances to the residents are kept to a minimum - we would not start work too early and would not finish too late so as not to disturb their rest/sleeping patterns.
Mitie took great care to ensure the working areas are always safe so as to avoid any injuries to members of the public or staff. We place a high priority on the provision of working environments that are safe and without risks to the health of all people who may be affected by our activities.
The results
Mitie Painting continues to deliver successful painting working alongside the Charities Estate and Management teams.
“Mitie successfully won the redecoration works through a tendering process, they were a company that we had not used previously used, from the first day they arrived on our site it was evident they had worked in a similar environment in other organisations. They were flexible with patient needs and put the patient first in their approach to the works that needed to be carried out. The staff were pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. The works were carried out in a professional manner and the standard of work was high. They also went the extra mile.”
