UNIT DY OLD MARKET – BRISTOL
We were contracted by SAC Construction Ltd to complete steelwork decoration for a new state-of-the-art collaborative space for scientific study right in the heart of Bristol.
The project started as a five-week contract for steelwork decoration only. However, due to our wealth of experience in painting/decorating office and sterile environments, the contract was extended to include painting and decorating of:
- Corridors, offices, meeting rooms (Johnson’s durable eggshell)
- Science labs and sterile areas
- Timber staining and painting with gloss/silk paints
- Doors, doorframes, skirting boards, radiator tails, exposed pipework, boxings and other details
Over a period of 8 months overall, our teams worked in short bursts to very tight schedules, to avoid disrupting other construction activities within the building. We were also called in to repair damage to painted/decorated surfaces caused by a water leak. We completed this work quickly and efficiently, making sure that it didn’t delay works completion.
We were delighted to be considered for the PPG Johnstone Painter of the Year award as a testament to the excellent level of work achieved for this project.
Contract and client: JCT Intermediate for SAC Construction Limited on behalf Science Creates
Value: £92,000
Duration: 8 Months
Completion: 2021
