LLANFRECHFA GRANGE HOSPITAL – CWMBRAN

We were contracted by Laing O’Rourke to complete the internal painting and decorating work in the newly finished centre of excellence, which once open, would be a state-of-the-art trauma treatment centre for seriously ill patients, or those with significant injuries – complete with 24-hour Acute Assessment Unit, Emergency Department and Helicopter Pad.

The hospitals’ 560 beds (including trollies and cots) were of great use during the COVID19 pandemic, which led to the hospital opening ahead of schedule.

We worked collaboratively, effectively and safely throughout the pandemic using the relevant Safe Systems of Working and our multi-skilled operatives, where necessary, to minimise the number of staff on site. We also installed sanitary and segregated areas, to keep our people safe.

Our dedicated team of painters and decorators worked around the clock, allowing part of the hospital to open almost a year ahead of schedule, as part of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board’s Covid-19 Plan.
