Moffat House
This 1762 built John Adams mansion had been poorly maintained and left looking like a poor commercial quality hotel, with the maximum number of rooms squeezed into the least space. The new owners had a clear mission and the means to make it reality. The intention was to open Moffat house back up into the grand, open space it was designed to be. Over 18 months the number of rooms were reduced and each area given the feel of a luxury destination space. No two rooms were the same and in the first instance the wallcovering was selected for each area, with the paint scheme then being chosen to suit. As with any building of this age, where something wasn't replaced for new, it required a lot of attention to detail, making sure the finished surfaces were in near perfect condition ready for paint or paper application. Using a broad range of wallcoverings including vinyl's and murals as well as standard, each area was finished to the highest possible standards with a well considered specification. A complete internal and external refurbishment and decoration programme has brought the property back to as new condition whilst retaining all of the character with which it was built. A broad range of decorative skills are on display here and it should be seen to be full appreciated.
