The Hilton Westminster

Project Brief

Pembroke & Bull were appointed to undertake decoration works to 464 bedrooms, corridors and lobby areas over 12 floors.
To avoid any glare, Dulux Trade Ultra Matt was applied to ceilings, with its near invisible touch-up properties critical to driving down costs and keeping the project on time.
The tough, hard-wearing formulation of Dulux Trade Diamond Eggshell was used to ensure high-traffic areas looked better for longer. It was applied to woodwork in corridors as well as the timber window surrounds in bedrooms.
Dulux Trade Super Grip Primer enabled existing metal suspended ceilings in corridors to be flawlessly top-coated with charcoal black Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt.

Scope of Works
Painting & Decorating works started on the 11th Jan 2021 and comprised of decoration to the following areas:
• Decorate all corridor areas with Dulux trade paint and bespoke wallpaper to walls.
• Decorate all ceilings in bedrooms with Dulux Trade paint and install bespoke wallpapers to niches.
Key Challenges
The pandemic struck three months into this project, bringing it to a grinding halt. When work recommenced, the challenge was learning to adapt to the new way of safe working whilst keeping on programme. The outcome of this was seeing various trades coordinating works together so as to maintain safe working distances delivering the project in time for reopening.
Overall Output
The project was completed on time ready for guests once government restrictions eased.
