The Bottle Factory SE1
Project Brief
Pembroke & Bull were appointed to undertake decoration works to The Bottle Factory SE1. The 126 year old Bottle Factory offers a unique working environment full of volume and historic design features connecting to its industrial past featuring 32,234 sq ft across three floors and an annex.
Scope of Works
Painting & Decorating works started on the 11th Jan 2021 and comprised of decoration to the following areas:
• Spray finish to all internal and external UPVC windows
• Decoration to ground floor, first floor and loft which previous use was the factory
• Decoration to the Annex which was previously used as the bottle house’.
Key Challenges
The building being of character and possessing industrial features provided a challenge to ensure the character of the building was preserved whilst providing decorative finishes to update the building for its next intended use.
A mixture of diluted paint was used on bare brickwork which had to be of the same consistency on each batch to provide a uniform finish.
Overall Output
The project was completed as per programme and within budget
